At Shire Family Medical, we offer family-centred care for infants, children, and adolescents. Our GPs listen, explain, and provide care in a supportive environment for you and your child.

What We Offer

We provide comprehensive, age-appropriate paediatric care, including:

  • Newborn and 6-week baby checks
  • Childhood immunisations (see Children’s Immunisations)
  • Feeding and settling support
  • Developmental checks and milestone tracking
  • Common childhood illness management (e.g. fevers, infections, rashes, asthma)
  • Allergy and eczema support
  • Adolescent health care (including puberty, skin, mental health, and sexual health)

We work closely with parents, carers, and allied health professionals to ensure your child receives the care and follow-up they need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — your baby’s first scheduled vaccinations occur at 6 weeks. We recommend booking a long appointment so your GP can complete a full developmental review and answer any questions you have.

Please bring your child’s Blue Book (Personal Health Record) and Medicare card. Any notes or questions you have are also welcome.

Yes, but please let us know when booking. For multiple children or more complex issues, we recommend booking separate appointments to allow adequate time.

We can assist with initial screening and referrals to appropriate specialists for further evaluation if required.
