About the Practice
Shire Family Medical is an established, well-regarded general practice in the heart of Sutherland. We serve a broad and loyal patient base across the Sutherland Shire, offering a wide range of GP and specialist clinic services.
What makes us different is the team we’ve built. Our GPs, nurses, and administrative staff genuinely enjoy working together, and that shows in the care we provide. We have a low turnover, a collaborative culture, and a commitment to making this a place where healthcare professionals can do their best work.
We are a family-owned practice led by Dr Louis Traynor and Rebel Traynor, supported by an experienced practice management team who handle the administrative load so our clinical staff can focus on patient care.

We are looking for vocationally registered general practitioners who are AHPRA registered and eligible to work in Australia, with a genuine interest in whole of family general practice and a collaborative, team focused approach.
We value experienced practice nurses who bring clinical skill and a calm, patient-centred approach. Our nursing team supports a wide range of clinical services including immunisations, iron infusions, health assessments, and GP management plans.
Our reception team is often the first contact a patient has with the practice and we look for people who are warm, organised, and genuinely care about patient experience. Medical reception experience is an advantage but not essential.
We occasionally have opportunities for experienced medical administrators for accounts, billing, correspondence, and practice coordination. If you have a background in healthcare administration and are looking for a long-term role in a supportive environment, we'd like to hear from you.

Our clinic is conveniently located in central Sutherland — an easy commute and a great area to work.
