About Dr Philip Loxley

Dr Phillip Loxley is a Specialist General Practitioner with more than 40 years in general practice. He studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and holds specialist registration in general practice with Ahpra.

Dr Loxley enjoys every part of general practice, with a special interest in sports medicine and mental health. As a vocationally registered GP, he keeps his knowledge current through ongoing continuing medical education.

Dr Loxley joined Shire Family Medical in November 2026, when his Adelong Street practice, Sutherland Doctors, became part of our team. Sue Loxley, Registered Nurse, has joined the practice with him, so his patients will continue to see familiar faces.

Existing patients only. Dr Loxley is not currently accepting new patients. If you are a new patient, please view our other doctors or call the clinic to discuss availability.

Interests & Community

Dr Loxley was one of the original sports doctors for the Sydney Swans, and sports medicine has remained a special interest throughout his career. He enjoys caring for the community he lives in, and values the relationships he has built with patients and their families over more than 40 years.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys surfing, cycling, walking and travel, follows the AFL, and spends as much time as he can with his grandchildren.
