Shire Family Medical have protective measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all our patients, staff and Doctors, since the COVID19 outbreak.
Our aim is to continue to deliver best practice while protecting well patients and caring for and treating the unwell.
General routine appointments are available in our morning and afternoon sessions. These appointments are only available for patients with no known contact with a recent case of COVID19, and no viral respiratory symptoms whatsoever.
We have structured special clinics for anyone (adults and children) experiencing any cold and flu symptoms (including a headache, cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever or shortness of breath). These allocated times allow us to prepare protective gear and maintain the highest level of infection control for each and every patient. If you attend our unwell clinic, you must email a Negative RAT to us on the day of your appointment, notify us from your car on arrival, and wear a mask on entry to our practice or obtain a mask from reception before entering the waiting room.
If you are unwell with any viral respiratory illness, please call our practice to arrange your appointment. Do not book your appointment online, as we have allocated appointment times set aside for your condition.
Telehealth phone calls can be arranged with our Doctors, these are especially important for those at higher risk or those uncertain how to act. Please enquire with reception as to whether you meet the criteria to be eligible for a Telehealth consultation. Medicare require you to have had a Face to Face appointment at our clinic within the last 12months.
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, please be aware that our receptionists will ask you some important questions to triage the ordering of appointments and your symptoms.
The above processes and plans are critical to separate well patients from symptomatic patients. Please be understanding, patient and courteous as we do our best to attend to you.
